Upcoming Code Club: Pangnirtung

11 March 2014

From November 10 to 14, we will be hosting the second Pangnirtung Code Club at the Pangnirtung Youth Centre.

This session will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day and is open to students of all ages (though it is recommended that you can read and write). Still, like last time, no one will be turned away. It will expand on what we covered during the first session – but if you did not attend, you’re still welcome! It won’t take long to catch you up. This session does run during school and the November 11 stat. We will be working with your schools to ensure you do not fall behind.

Highlights of this code club session include developing games and computer software in Scratch, experiment with virtual reality and the Oculus Rift, and developing hardware inventions with the Rasberry Pi. There will also be a major focus on game development – including what makes a good game and how we can make games fun. The session will feature lots of active, programming, and game play, all with the goal of helping you understand what makes a computer work.
